TV Remote finds your Roku, Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG or Vizio TV on your own Wi-Fi and turns your iPhone into its remote — no separate remote, no extra hardware to buy. Modern iPhones have no infrared transmitter, so this is a Wi-Fi remote, not an IR one: it controls a supported TV on your network, directly, after a short one-time set-up.

How it works
Find your TV
Open the app and tap Find TV. It looks on your Wi-Fi for a Roku, Fire TV, Google TV, Samsung, LG or Vizio TV, or you can add one by IP address. iOS will ask for Local Network permission — that is how the app talks to your TV at all.
Approve it once
A Roku on Roku OS 14.1 or later needs Control by mobile apps turned on. A Fire TV needs Developer options and ADB debugging turned on first — a setting you control and can turn off again at any time. Google TV, Samsung, LG and Vizio just need one tap, code or PIN on the TV screen the first time you connect.

Your basic remote is free, for as long as you use it — one saved TV, with power, volume, mute, the D-pad, OK, Back, Home, Play/Pause and channel keys wherever the device supports them. No daily limit, no trial required to use it.

What TV Remote will not do
- It has no infrared mode. Modern iPhones have no IR transmitter. Everything here runs over your Wi-Fi network instead.
- It will not control every model. Fire TV Stick models on Amazon's Vega OS and Samsung TVs from 2014-2015 aren't supported — the table above is the honest list of what does.
- It will not create an account for you. No sign-up, no login, no email address collected.
- It will not track you. No analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no server of ours: the app talks only to your TVs, and to Apple's App Store for prices and purchases.
Questions
Does this work with Samsung or LG TVs?
Yes — new in this version. TV Remote now supports Samsung (2016 and newer) and LG (webOS), alongside Google TV, Android TV and Vizio. They're new and not yet confirmed on every model; if something doesn't work on your TV, tell us and we'll look into it.
Is this a universal remote?
No. Modern iPhones don't have an infrared transmitter, so there's no IR signal for it to send. TV Remote controls a supported TV over your Wi-Fi network instead.
Does it work away from home, over cellular?
No. Your iPhone and your TV both need to be on the same local Wi-Fi network. There is no remote-access or cellular mode.
What does Local Network permission do?
It's the iOS permission that lets the app look for and talk to devices on your Wi-Fi — the only thing it's used for is finding and controlling your TV. See Support for how to check or change it.
Is my data sent anywhere?
Nothing goes to us. The app talks to your TVs over your Wi-Fi, and to Apple's App Store for prices and purchases; there's no account, no analytics SDK and no server of ours. Saved TVs and settings stay on your iPhone; pairing keys and TV tokens are kept in the iPhone's Keychain. Tokens go only to your TV's address on your own Wi-Fi, and private keys never leave the iPhone. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In the iPhone Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops any future charge. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
